No shine?  Chapstick to the rescue!

Got an important interview and didn’t notice how dull your leather boots are?  If you have some chapstick in your purse, rub some of it on your boots.  Now take a handkerchief and shine away!  Don’t use a tissue or paper towel.  This will leave the fibers on the boots and no shine.  Use your socks, panty hose, inside of your jacket, or your finger tips as a substitute.

Make those boots “Bling”!

While polishing your boots, put a couple drops of lemon juice on them.  You’ll look like you're walking on stars with the extra shine.

Bye Bye to Labels

Are you sick and tired of peeling off those annoying labels on your boots?

If it’s on the bottom of your shoe, take a cotton ball and dip it with cooking oil, nail varnish remover, or turpentine.  Then, soak the label with the solution.  Let it sit for a couple of minutes.  Now it should be easier to take off.

If it’s on the inside of the shoe, like on the heel or arch area, soak the label with shoe conditioner.  This will soften and loosen up the label.  Make sure the conditioner is compatible to the boot’s material, especially if it’s suede or nubuck.  With finger tips or tweezers, gently pull off the label.
